Tinnitus Symptoms
In tinnitus, patients can here the noise that no one can here around the patient. This is generally ringing or buzzing sound but sometimes it may be rushing or clicking sound which goes along with the heartbeats. The sound is some of the times go with loss of hearing and dizziness in the syndrome which is known as Meniere's disease.
The sensation of the tinnitus is high pitched whistling, ringing, hissing or the buzzing sounds. Sometimes it has complex sound such as roar of ocean. These sounds are constant or it come and go.
Tinnitus is made worsen because of the stress. The stress may be psychological, physical or the emotional. Some of the people can live happily with the tinnitus sound. This sound interferes with the life's quality. The sound is experienced in one or in both the ears or in the head.
Tinnitus symptoms are given below. It includes the sounds which can be heard by the patient:
- Ringing
- Roaring
- Buzzing
- Whistling
- Clicking
- Hissing
The phantom noise can differ from low roar to the high squeal and patients can here that in one ear or in both the ears. Tinnitus is symptom not a disease or condition. Generally all tinnitus causes are not harmful and it generated at the old age. Now a day tinnitus is started in young people because of noise and sound of the today's culture.
Tinnitus patients are also sensitive to the regular sound. For example, TV or radio is painfully loud for tinnitus patients while the same sound is normal for most people.
Tinnitus is broadly classified in two categories such as objective tinnitus and subjective tinnitus:
Objective Tinnitus:
This is audible form to observer either by listening close to the ear or with the stethoscope. Objective tinnitus records for less than five percent of the overall tinnitus and is related with muscular or the vascular disorders. It is frequently described as synchronous or pulsatile with heartbeat of the patient. Frequently, if objective tinnitus is determined then medication or surgical treatment is prescribed.
Subjective Tinnitus:
This is only audible form to the patient and it is very common type of tinnitus and found in 95 percent of the tinnitus patients. Subjective tinnitus is symptom which is related to every ear disorder and it is present in over 80 percent of the people with hearing loss which is caused because of damage of hair or nerve cells.
Many tinnitus symptoms are as below:
- have difficulty during concentrating or sleeping
- feel anxious or depressed
- describe a correlation of tinnitus perception with stress
- report extra problems at the time of work or at home that may add to the distress caused by the tinnitus
- It is often difficult to determine whether a patient's emotional state pre-existed, or is a result of the tinnitus.
