Tinnitus is a noise which originates in the ear, not from any other outside source. It is not a disease but a symptom. Patients may experience ringing sound in any one ear or sometimes both the ears or in the head. Ringing sound is general, but in some patients, it may take the form of high pitched buzzing, whining, humming, whistling, clicking, ticking, roaring, beeping or the hissing sound.

There are some causes of tinnitus, which includes wax in ear, ear infections and fluid drain. It may produce due to the side effect of any medications like aspirin.
